We will determine the students to be admitted by evaluating the submitted documents and their academic skills as a whole.

Subject Oral Examination (200 points)
Major Time 10:00~17:00
Mathematics Individual Interview
Presentation on the master’s thesis or research for master’s thesis for about 30 minutes which includes question-and-answer session. A projector or a blackboard is available. If you want to distribute an abstract in your presentation, prepare 20 copies in advance.
Physics Individual Interview
Presentation on the master’s thesis or research achievements equivalent to master’s thesis for about 30 minutes which includes question-and–answer session. A projector is available.
Chemistry Individual Interview
Presentation on the master’s thesis or research achievements equivalent to master’s thesis for about 30 minutes which includes question-and–answer session using a projector. (OHP is available. If you want to use it, please let the chairperson of the major know in advance)
Nano-Science and Nano-Technology Individual Interview
Presentation on the master’s thesis or research achievements equivalent to master’s thesis for about 30 minutes which includes question-and–answer session using a projector. (OHP is available. If you want to use it, please let the chairperson of the major know in advance)
Materials Science Individual Interview
Presentation on the master’s thesis or research achievements equivalent to master’s thesis for about 15 minutes and question-and–answer session using a projector.
Applied Physics

We will evaluate applicants’ English ability with official score of TOEIC, TOEFL, or IELTS (Academic Module)
Individual Interview
Presentation on the master’s thesis or research achievements equivalent to master’s thesis for 15 minutes and question-and–answer session for 15 minutes using a projector.

  1. 1.Before you apply, you need to contact a prospective supervisor (a faculty member from whom you wish to receive academic instruction) in advance (see the Faculty Members, Graduate School of Pure and Applied Sciences – Doctoral Programs –).
  2. 2.(*1) Submit the original Official Score Certificate/Report of TOEIC, Examinee Score Record of TOEFL, or Test Report Form of IELTS (Academic Module) along with your application forms. Official Score Certificate/Report of TOEIC, Examinee Score Record of TOEFL, or Test Report Form of IELTS (Academic Module) taken after July 2015 is valid. Copy is not acceptable.
Materials Science and Engineering
