8. Student Support System
In the Ph.D. Program in Human Biology, the Student Support Committee plays a central role and conducts various activities to support enrolled students in their studies. For example, it provides support for students’ living expenses and tuition fees from the Financial Support Scheme for Special Fellows, as well as financial support for overseas activities and for students’ self-initiated activities. The types of support are shown in detail below:
|Financial support||Stipend – During (2017-2018 academic year, stipend in the amount of 180,000 yen per month will be provided. Student is responsible for paying the admission fee, school expense, reduced tuition fee, housing, income tax and health insurance. From 2018 academic year (from 2nd to 5th year), estimated stipend will be between 50,000~70,000 yen per month.
Support for Overseas Activities – for overseas lab rotation, overseas internship and appropriate technology courses.
Support for Tuition Fees
|Housing support||Preferential accommodation to the on-campus dormitory.
Monthly Rent: 30,000 yen per month (at one’s own expense)
The secure dormitory consist of a private room with own entrance, kitchen and a bathroom, and is furnished with a single bed and a desk.
