Screening Criteria
We will determine the students to be admitted by evaluating the submitted documents and their academic skills as a whole.

Chair of the Doctoral Program in Policy and Planning Sciences - Applicants need to contact the faculty members in their area of specialization (see the list of specialization areas) and obtain his/her consent to your application prior to the application process.
- PowerPoint presentation is preferable. Although the equipment for the presentation (a desktop computer or a projector) are available on-site, you will need to bring your own laptop if needed. Both Japanese and English are acceptable for the presentation and Q&A.
- Submit your future research plan which you wish to do at our faculty. You need to consult the faculty member before submitting. The plan must include your name, the thesis for the research, and the name of the professor you wish to work with. English is also acceptable.

- Applicants must contact the desired faculty advisor (see the list of specialization areas) and obtain his/her consent to your application prior to submitting the application for the examination. If you have the second choice, contact him/her and consent to your application as well. Applicants for the special examination for working individuals should confirm their intention at this time.
- Bring an original copy of the TOEIC Listening and Reading Test Official Score Certificate / Official Score Report or Examinee (Test Taker) Score Report which is sent to the TOEFL examinee from ETS by postal mail, of the test you took after July 2017 with your photo, which is attached on the form to be created after completing Web Entry, and submit on the first day of the exam at the time advised by the program of your choice in advance. (Refer to the attachment sheet for the details about submission.)
If the score is not submitted properly, you will be excluded from the further selection. - We will not accept the submission of a photocopy of the score, TOEIC Institutional Program Score Report, or TOEFL Institutional Test Score Record.
The original copy will not be returned to you. - Refer to the program’s web page http://www.cs.tsukuba.ac.jp/english/index.html. For the oral examination, you will be giving a 10-minute presentation about your past researches, your future research plan, and the purpose of enrollment. PowerPoint presentation is preferable.
