2. Eligibility for Admission
Applicants will be deemed eligible if they meet one of the following requirements:
- Individuals who have graduated or will graduate from a four-year university in Japan by March, 2024 (for Special Selection Process of Global Individuals in English, September, 2024)
- Individuals who have earned or will earn a bachelor’s degree in Japan by March 2024 (for Special Selection Process of Global Individuals in English, September 2024)
- Individuals who have graduated from a university outside Japan that requires 16 or more years of school curriculum up to university graduation, and have earned a bachelor’s degree, or individuals who expect to graduate from such a university and earn a bachelor’s degree by March 2024 (for Special Selection Process of Global Individuals in English, September, 2024)
- Individuals who have been designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan
- Individuals who have been recognized by the University of Tsukuba Graduate School through the eligibility screening to have academic ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate and will be 22 years of age or older by March 2024 (for Special Selection Process of Global Individuals in English, September, 2024)

Special Selection Process for Recommended Applicants
- (1) Individuals who will graduate from a Japanese 4-year university by the end of March 2024
- (2) Individuals who are students of Advanced course, College of Technology and are scheduled to obtain a bachelor’s degree
Recommendation Requirements
The head of applicant’s organization recommends an applicant who meets either of the following requirements and who can guarantee enrollment if the applicant is accepted.
- (1) Individuals who have earned approximately 70% or more A (excellent) grades among the total credits earned by the time of application
- (2) Individuals who have excelled in a specific field of research
