【July Special Selection Process for Self-recommended Applicants】 Master’s Program in Design	Individuals who are eligible to apply and meet either of the following self-recommendation requirements (a) or (b) may apply for this selection process. Applicants for this selection process promise that they enroll in the University of Tsukuba if they are accepted. (a) Individuals whose credits for courses in which they have acquired an A grade or higher (equivalent to 80-100 points on a 100-point scale) account for 70% or more of the total credits earned by the time of application (＊1) (b) Individuals who excel in a specific field of research related to design (＊2)

With our Web Entry system, you can submit the application online. Read this section carefully before applying online.

In the case of a foreign language, affix the original of the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test Official Score Certificate or the TOEFL Examinee (Test Taker) Score Report which is sent to the TOEFL examinee from ETS by postal mail to this department’s stipulated form, and submit it at the application. The TOEIC Official Score Certificate and TOEFL Examinee (Test Taker) Score Report are valid in the case of examinations taken in the last 2 years. The submitted originals will not be returned.
If you are unable to submit the original on the application period, you must submit the original on the exam day. If the original is not submitted, your application will be taken as an incomplete, irrespective of the reasons, and you will be excluded from the candidates for selection.
Applicants who have taken the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test after April 2023 and have been issued the Digital Official Score Certificate should follow the instructions when submitting the web application, enter the URL and submit the printed copy of the Digital Official Score Certificate on the department’s stipulated form on the application. In this case, there is no need to submit the originals of the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test Official Score Certificate.
Once the Digital Official Score Certificate is issued, please send the URL of the Digital Official Score Certificate and Degree program applied to Academic Service Office for the Art and Sport Sciences Area, University of Tsukuba (taigeiin.admission@un.tsukuba.ac.jp) by e-mail as soon as possible. In addition, please submit a printed copy of the Digital Official Score Certificate on the exam day.
Please do not submit photocopies of the TOEIC Official Score Certificate or the TOEFL Examinee (Test Taker) Score Report. Only originals are accepted. The results of the First Stage Selection will be announced on October 3 from the “Information” page of the “Graduate Admissions” on our university website (https://eng.ap-graduate.tsukuba.ac.jp). Be sure to check. Please note that documents and other materials submitted at the time of application (First Stage Selection) will not be returned.
After the announcement of successful applicants for the First Stage Selection, Information about the designated delivery place of theses, works, etc., and various other information related to the examination will be sent to the registered e-mail addresses of the successful applicants. Be sure to check.
In the case of a foreign language, affix the original of the TOEFL Examinee (Test Taker) Score Report who took the test after October 2022 which is sent to the TOEFL examinee from ETS by postal mail, the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test Official Score Certificate, or the IELTS Academic Module Test Report Form to the stipulated form, and submit it at the time of application.（Note : IELTS Online results are not acceptable.）
If you are unable to submit the original at the time of application, you must submit the original at the time of assembly on the exam day. If the original is not submitted, your application will be understood as incomplete, irrespective of the reasons, and your application will not be considered for selection. The submitted originals will not be returned.
Applicants who have taken the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test after April 2023 and have been issued the Digital Official Score Certificate should follow the instructions when submitting the web application, enter the URL and submit the printed copy of the Digital Official Score Certificate on the stipulated form at the time of application. In this case, there is no need to submit the originals of the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test Official Score Certificate.
※If the Digital Official Score Certificate is scheduled to be issued after the web application period, please select ” Have taken the TOEIC test conducted after April 2023, please follow the procedure below.” and indicate the date you took the TOEIC in your web application.

Once the Digital Official Score Certificate is issued, please send the URL of the Digital Official Score Certificate and Degree program applied to the Academic Service Office for the Art and Sport Sciences Area, University of Tsukuba (taigeiin.admission@un.tsukuba.ac.jp) by e-mail as soon as possible. In addition, please submit a printed copy of the Digital Official Score Certificate at the time of assembly on the exam day.
Please do not submit photocopies of the TOEFL Examinee (Test Taker) Score Report or the TOEIC Official Score Certificate or the Test Report Form of IELTS (Academic Module). October General Selection and January-February Special Selection Process for Overseas Residents applicants whose native language is not English affix the original score sheets from the English Proficiency Test (Cambridge Assessment English, EIKEN, GTEC, IELTS (Academic Module), TEAP, TOEFL, TOEIC.) took within two years from the month of selection process to this department’s stipulated form, and submit it at the application. If you are unable to submit the original at the application, you must submit the original by the exam day. If the original is not submitted, your application will be taken as an incomplete, irrespective of the reasons, and you will be excluded from the candidates for selection. The submitted originals will not be returned.
